What to expect...
When you next visit No.1 The Grange, it might not be the grange you're used to. To enable us to open safely and operate legally, we've put in place mandatory measures. If you are displaying any of the symptoms of coronavirus, please cancel your booking.
On arrival
During the week, we are opening our doors at 5pm and a managed queue will be in operation outside the building. We would ask you to please adhere to current guidance and remain 2 metres away from the next person in line.
Entrance is via the door on Grange Road Upon entering, we would ask you to sanitise your hands and wait to be seated. Your server will be wearing a face mask and will check off your booking and show you to your table. If you don't have a booking, they will check to see if we can accommodate you but please do be aware that we are not operating at full capacity so that we can keep our staff and customers safe. We therefore recommend that you book in advance. Please be advised that table bookings are for a period of 1.5 hours. |
When you're in the pub
When you are shown to your table, your server will brief you on our safety measures. You are now required by law to use the QR codes on each table to 'check in' with the details of your lead booker. Your server will show you how this works but essentially, open the camera on your smartphone as if to take a photo. The camera will scan this code and you will be sent to a government website that will collect the details of your lead customer. Not all diners are required to log details, just one person. To reiterate, this is a mandatory policy. Those who do not wish to take part in the track and trace will not be served. It is also mandatory for anyone visiting the pub including suppliers.
Your server will explain the procedure for visiting the toilets. Due to the narrow staircase, it's a one-in-one-out visit. Please flush the toilet, wash your hands and use the hand sanitiser too. The signage on the door at the top of the stairwell will indicate whether someone is in the toilet or if it is vacant. We would ask you to please remember to change this when you're finished so that people can go in after you. We have a contraflow in operation, meaning that there is one circular route throughout the establishment, ensuring that everyone can remain safely distanced. We would ask you to please remain seated at all times throughout your visit, unless you're going to the toilet. Please do not stand at the bar. |
